Tok, in case you didnt understand that, I'm not from zee former Yugoslavia. I lived in Czech Republic and Slovakia for a while, and picked up a bit of the languages.... I think Thorny mentioned something about your being from Eastern Europe somewhere....

Yeah, I'm half ex-Yugoslav but I don't speak the language - I just thought I recognized some strains of it in what you wrote. But them's all Slavic languages, so it figures...

cool...so you must have some fascinatin' history... i would love to visit Yugoslavia...and Croatia....
so you only heard a parent speak it?
I have seen a number of Yugoslavian films and I was quite surprised at all the things I could pick out... My favorite was "The Underground." It was so completely bizarre and surreal. I'm trying to get Thorn to watch it. Have you seen it?

I have seen a number of Yugoslavian films and I was quite surprised at all the things I could pick out... My favorite was "The Underground." It was so completely bizarre and surreal. I'm trying to get Thorn to watch it. Have you seen it? Well, I heard my dad's family speak it but I didn't hang out with them enough to pick up the language. I like Underground quite a bit, but I think it could have been succesfully trimmed by almost an hour.

Tok, which half-Yugoslavian are you? Serb? Croat? Macedonian? Have you been there at all? I'd love to visit all of the former Yugoslavia beyond Croatia, but I think its probably better to wait until some of them are EU members, just for ease of travel etc. Theres so much history in the Eastern bloc countries. Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary. if you're being a smart-arse its not funny. layla: *claps hands, wriggles ass, and clicks heels in glee for your sexy slav conquests* I'll say. He was hot. Barely a word of English. I like that in a man. They can't object or interrupt me.

lol...layla, you tickle me in all the right nubby places... anyway, i lived in the czech republic for a year, and slovakia for four months. would i love your grandma?
tok, yes. you are right. the underground get's kind of longish and bizarrio surreal consumptivo... just like summer of the gypsys... i almost feel like watching those yugoslav movies is like watching a space shuttle wreck unfold in slow motion or something.... you get exhausted, but you HAVE to hold out to the end to satisfy the very 'what-the-fuck' it inscribes...
