I think it's perfect so far. 2005 sucked way more than this at 13 hours and 16 minutes in.

not me, i've felt wasted and useless all day, haven't done a single sensible thing and didn't enjoy the non-sensible things I did
2005 was a good one for me and will be hard to top

I stayed over at a friend's house for a New Year's party (which, I might add, was one of the strangest and most entertaining parties I've been to in a while) and only got back a few hours ago. So for me, 2006 has been pretty good so far.

Well, my 2006 started off on a great note. My friend Josh who lives nearby, with his parents, is having a party. His brother is 19, maybe 20, and has lots of friends that are the same age or even younger. So basically it was a teenage fest. About 6 or 7 of my friends there staying upstairs while the teens ruled the basement. Meanwhile, the parents, carefree about all those underage drinking laws, sat in the living room.
I show up around 10:30, I leave at about 12:20 to pick up the Slickster, and we go back. Immediately upon walking in she gets a bad vibe, and stomach pains. My friend Derek who is home from the army for a week comes with his 20 year old brother Chuck and two of his punkass friends. Apparently one of the teens already at the party doesnt like one of these guys, and a fight almost occurs. But, knowing how Derek gets, I brush it off, and tell Leslie that "hes always like that" and shes got nothing to worry about.
But, she doesnt shake the bad feeling, and I take her home at about 1, 1:30 and go back. Its a short drive, im not gone long. Im back, and the drinking begins. I have a few shots and talk to three or four of my friends most of the night. Then Derek and crew decide to leave. We dont pay much mind, and then suddenly we see people looking out the window. So we go check it out.
I walk out, and hear a chick bawling hysterically. Some guy, who turned out to be Josh's cousin Jeff, is lying on the ground gushing blood, and he looks beyond fucked up. I walk out to Derek and crew's van to see what happened. Theyre calm as day, and I tell em to bail since people are on their phone calling the cops and ambulances.
The story i've heard now is that Jeff's girlfriend decided to throw a drink at Chuck, and he retailiated on Jeff, who not only got fucked up by Chuck's punch, he also hit his head on either a truck in the driveway, or the driveway itself. So, Josh's dad flips out, tells all the teens to get the fuck out, and they bail. I stay, along with a few others to clean up the mess. Jeff remains out cold and gushing blood until they take him to the hospital. Cops pick up Chuck for felony assault. Josh's parents don't appear to be in any trouble just yet, but that door remains wide open.
So, basically i was at a high school party, and some dude might even be dead for all i know, ive never seen anyone so fucked up after a fight in my life. He looked like Apollo Creed in Rocky 4, im not even joking. I have no further details at this time. My best friend was supposed to call me with an update.
I left the place at about 3 AM, Leslie was still up, and i told her how she was pretty much dead on about the fight, she saw it coming and wisely bailed.
Happy New Year.

To date, my 2006 cannot top the Great One's. Here are my shenanigans one day in (though I am now at around 6pm Jan 2nd...its already going so fast...) NYE was well riotous, but a really kind of calm, ordered riotous. Jan 1 = worst hangover I've had in years. I was semi-paralysed, but too tored & dehydrated to really care. I regained full use of my legs around 2pm. We decided the first night of the year called for more boozing. So we attended some swish bar. The bartender had a shirt that said 'What Would Simon LeBon Do?' I was much impressed. I spotted a very pretty boy in this bar, this Josh Hartnett lookalike. Mmm. I tried to schmooze him but because he was so pretty, he was having none of it. Too busy being macked on by dozens of other skanks, although none had skirts as short as mine. Thats right girlfriend. Anyway, this guy rebuffing me got me even more hooked so I pondered the dilemma for a while (should point out I was fueled by an inapprpriate amount of tequila at the time) & then I caught a glimpse of the bartender's shirt. What Would Simon LeBon Do? Or, rather...what would Simon LeBon want ME to do? "Layla...you're not being skanky enough! Love, Simon" The most logical thing to me seemed to be to request the DJ play "Hungry Like the Wolf", then sashay over to said pretty boy & give him a semi-lap dance. Fast forward three hours & I was the proud recipient of some damn good oral sexing. Then I fell asleep & I think Josh Hartnett lookalike got mad that he wasn't getting any sex, so he went home. There was a girl there who really wanted him & she was quite miffed that my Duran Duran lap dancing got me the booty instead. On my way out she said: "You sir, are a WHORE". So I spilled my tequila sunrise down her pretty silk shirt. I didn't even pretend it was an accident. You know my resolution was to be more of an adult this year? What a roaring failure.

i had the worst vibes ever as soon as we walked through the door at that party. i just got a yucky eerie feeling, and i couldn't shake it. plus, i felt really retahded being at a party with a bunch of teeny boppers..pissin would have loved it. anyhow, these dudes started arguing right in front of me..and i'm thinking "great, i've escaped 8 months without being hit by one of my criminal law procedure patients, but i'm going to get knocked out at a new years party". so, even though they quit arguing, i knew that it was going to continue to escalate. so, i didn't want to be really blunt in front of all these people, and be like "get me the fuck out of here" so i told the great one that i wasn't feeling well, and to please take me home. in the car i tell him my real reasons for wanting to leave. then he comes home, and tells me that i'm right. umm..i AM a psych nurse..i make a living by being observant..paying very close attention to peoples behaviors, and reading people. i could tell by body language and tone of voice, that the little tiff was only going to escalate into an out of control situation. *does the "i was right" dance* layla, my dear, sounds like you had a lovely new years that cracked me up about you spilling your drink on that skank...we *really* should start our own girl gang
