Any ideas for giving the boards a lil' kick in the pants? Maybe another category? The newbie experiment didn't work out so good with carnies and lurkers...

I think a frequent poster program would be great...where you could turn in "clique cash" for prizes such as knives, panchos and sexual favors.

It's true. All the Options trade journals I read have at least one section discussing what a "sexy bitch Ndy is".

I think we should make another category that is funny. And also one that is neat. We could maybe work on making it new, and different. Something about . . . your favorite breakfast cereals. And it should also be a real good time. And then we can all swap names, and make it real confusing, like. That would be fun.

I saw on a another message board where they all created another login and you had to guess who everyone was. It seemed like it could be alot of fun.

I commissioned an expensive study with a fancy research insitute to understand what happened to the board spirit and this is what I, um, they came up with:
(1) LOUSY BOARD FORMAT. Where are the 'favorites', where are the home-made smileys a la >8-D or ;*s ? Where is the golden name of Rolling Stone, attracting oodles of idiots every day? Where is Passleft?
(2) Loss of many top-notch posters. Rivers, Dolly and JLLM, anyone?
(3) Lack of fresh blood to sink our snobby vampire ears into.
Solution? Find better boards (??), have Trace force Dolly etc. back to the boards by blackmail for you-know-what, nudge, nudge, wink, wink (surely they must have done something with trace at some point, no?). Make these boards highly googable, somehow, if someone knows how to.

Let's all go to the Spin boards and tell them they're stupid.

As much as the magazine sucked the boards were actually pretty good...as petty as it seems alot if it was the "us against them" cliques that formed...and there were always boards with intelligent discussions happening as well. The biggest problem is that we all like each other and agree on most things. We need boards like this to retreat and bask in our own glory but we also need a place we don't control.

I agree with that.
