10 shinless years is too long. I'm sure he'll be eligible for parole earlier than that. I'm predicting strat will soften up and invite him back around 2015.

haha, I was just checking the same thing.
This board is unfortunately painfully slow as well in my opinion, although it's certainly not dead. There are a few here who do their best, but it seems as though everybody's mostly just polite, mild-mannered, and like-minded. And ultimately everybody is just busy with real life.
The internet's changed for the worse. I can't remember what was funner, the actual rs.com or the dissolution of Strat's board into this place. I used to be able to drink an 8 pack an read posts all evening where nowadays id be sleeping within 10 minutes.
School's cancelled today because it's 'too cold', and I have nowhere to get my message board fix!!!
just invite RocDoc and get it over with haha.

just browsing through and I realize how easy it is to forget some of the personalities:
JAC used to be here and he just vanished or became a christian or something, although he had links to really weird porn. He wrote cool and interesting stories if I remember correctly.
Ryosuke was always introducing the cool Japan music.
We had the other Ken, the guy who was pretty smart and loved the Replacements.
Chem was one of, if not my all time favourite poster.
Pissin might actually be my favourite come to think of it.
I'm sure there are more if I went searching who I'd love to have back around.
There's also our Brian's, Evac's, Paul Cooke's, Mary's and etc, etc, etc who all were great contributors.
gone are the days.

re: "gone are the days." No doubt Gordo. I just caught up w/ this board - a lot of history packed into 12 pages. Shin and Trace getting banished for ten years -that's hilarious. Wouldn't it be funny if, fer shits'n'giggles, they both, along with the rest of us, gangplanked back onto RS Castaways, and seized it back, when the time is up (a couple more years or so...maybe 3)? Aside from how dead it is... but maybe, that's what makes the idea good. Anyone remember who Laughing Shadow was ? It rings a bell...

I check it every day but I don't post a lot...maybe I'll try to step it up. We need a project. I read the handful of posts that are here with my coffee every morning. Sometime's I'll pop on in the late afternoon and evening to see a few posts, but I am completely guilty of not posting hardly anything. That has a lot to do with the fact that I just don't really listen to any new music. If I do post what I'm listening to ya'll would probably have a 73% chance of knowing what it was as soon as you seen the name 'Mr.Gordon' at the top of the post. I post sometimes in the TV and sports boards but those forums don't seem to gain a whole lot of traction. I'm relegated to glorified lurker and I'm probably not the only one. Although a good project like the Sedaka rankings or whatever they were was pretty cool, and might get a few more people like myself out of the shadows. I used to post at work and had lots more free-time in college too. It was nice to leech off the company teat and entertain myself online, but I just can't do that teaching. I also think a lot of other folks find it more difficult to post during work without risk of being reprimanded and whatnot. or maybe I'm out in left-field.

I think that explains a lot, Mr. Gordon. I happen to be an exception, due to my being the boss, here. Coupled with the fact that the nature of my job--holding the fort here at RAD TRANS Headquarters, and monitoring the patient dispatch screen--necessarily allows me plenty of in-between down-time to toggle over to Sedaka Clique and fb, and get in my social utility networking. Factor in that I can type nearly 120 wpm without blinking or even opening my eyes, and you can see how I'm merely in the lucky position to be an exception. No wonder I feel so alone sometimes.
